MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES SPECIFIC
TO IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES
The adjustment to a new culture, language, and unfamiliar surroundings in the United States
can pose serious challenges to the lives of immigrants as well as the dynamics of their
families. Many immigrants were forced to leave their home countries due to the harsh
conditions, which include persecution, war, revolution, imprisonment, and torture. These
Per-immigration realities can leave a lasting scar that often gets exacerbated after immigration
to the US. Immigrants are often left to resolve these conflicts in a new culture, isolated by the
absence of friends and relatives and their support network.
Sunrise Clinic provides mental health services to enable immigrants to adjust to the new
culture, language, and lead fulfilling lives in their newly adopted country.
